Zero tolerance for dog violations announced in Juneau
A zero tolerance for dog violations in municipal parks has been initiated by City Hall and the Gastineau Humane Society.

George Schaff, the city's Parks and Landscape Superintendent, says its an ongoing problem that has spurred their decision to launch the heightened enforcement.

So effective immediately, he says Animal Control officers will issue citations up to $100 and/or mandatory court appearances for anyone not cleaning up after their pets and animals that are not on a leash or under competent voice control.

And there will be no warnings.

The Gastineau Humane Society enforces Juneau’s animal control regulations under a contract with the city and borough.
